Hyderabad: BJP MLA T Raja Singh, no stranger to controversy, is once again at the centre of a social media storm. Following the recent blocking of several accounts supporting him, the BJP leader is raising an alarm over what he claimed is a “targeted effort” to silence his voice.
The latest crackdown follows the suspension of his YouTube and Instagram accounts by Meta a few months ago, adding to a year-long battle against censorship. Singh has now called for accountability, accusing social media platforms of unfairly suppressing voices that stand for Hindu values while allowing criticism of Hindu culture to go on unchecked. On Thursday, the US-based India Hate Lab reported that several accounts supporting Raja Singh, under his name, had been blocked. Singh had recently reached out to Amit Malaviya, national convener of BJP’s IT cell, seeking action regarding the removal of his social media accounts.
